James Rollins - Total Effect Spirit, Soul & Body
Originally founded as a home-based business in December of 2000, Total Effect Spirit, Soul & Body started as a personal-training service. The founders, both accomplished athletes, traveled to clients’ homes and local tracks to help individuals improve performance, overall fitness and to provide speed and agility training to student athletes.
As the number of their clients increased, they saw a need to develop a business plan that would help them service their current clients, as well as, prepare them for the future. In 2001, they enrolled in the INCREASE CDC training program and completed a business plan that has guided them to a promising future in the sports and fitness industry.
As they gained more experience in their industry, they noticed there was a void in the community for a program that provided both physical, nutritional and academic training for underprivileged student athletes and their families. In August of 2008, James and Helen added the Total Effect Sports Academy (a non-profit organization) to serve their community by reaching out to the underprivileged youth and their families in the areas of sports, fitness, nutrition and academic support.
Their mission is to help Central Ohio families achieve total health through customized fitness and athletic training, nutritional counseling, and academic support. Treating the whole body and mind of the youth and their families, Total Effect will provide nutrition counseling, academic advising/tutoring and physical training to those families that are seeking to live a healthier lifestyle.
Certified by the Ohio Department of Education, the Executive Director of Total Effect Spirit, Soul & Body has coached track and field at Gahanna Middle School West for seven years as the girls' Head Coach. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University and graduated from the INCREASE CDC training program in 2001.
