F. John LaIacona. Jr. got his start in business with the Boy Scouts of America, seeking out merit badges and convincing counselors that his project was worthy of commendation, thus beginning a life-long sales career. Being a musician (saxophone and clarinet) also engendered a gregarious manner, coming from performing publicly. This came to fruition when he played the Harlem Nocturne for a large crowd at the New York Worlds Fair. Upon graduating from Alfred University and moving past graduate school, he found himself working for corporate America and achieving sales awards in national contests.
Transferring from Albany, New York to Columbus, Ohio to manage a sales office, he eventually went into business for himself and has maintained it successfully since 1996. John works closely with CPAs, providing their clients with computer checks to match their financial and accounting software. Some clients of Rocky VII Business Checks, Inc. include: The Better Business Bureau, Made from Scratch, Wilder & Associates, Carlile Patchen & Murphy, Jersey Mike’s, Classic Pizza, Adoption Circle and many more.
In addition to a large number of business checks customers, the firm also provides merchant card services to Weight Watchers, Mellman and Perdue, CPAs, The Central Ohio Diabetes Association and many others.
John is also the founder of The Accountant Information Market, a business networking organization with three chapters in Greater Columbus and one in Cleveland. Members include: Financial Planners, Bankers, Attorneys, Business Owners, Sales Executives, CPAs and other professionals. In addition, he is a member of Westerville Chamber of Commerce, the Northland Area Business Association, Increase CDC and is active in his church and community.
John has performed for the Jazz and Rib Festival, The Lancaster Music Festival and other venues. He recorded one jazz and three gospel albums, most of which was written by John himself.
