PRESS RELEASEINCREASE CDC Requests Nominations for the Micro Entrepreneur AwardsRelease: March 11, 2008 Columbus, OH: 2008 will mark the fourth year of INCREASE CDC's annual Micro Entrepreneur Awards, the only ceremony in Central Ohio that focuses on celebrating business owners with fewer than five employees. Entrepreneurs that have been in business a minimum of two years and have five employees or less can nominate online at www.increasecdc.org or by calling 614.476.1758. Nominations for the awards are being accepted now through March 21. Self-nominations are encouraged. Winners will receive trophies, prizes and special acknowledgement. Sponsored by Huntington Bank, the event is the only one of its kind in Central Ohio and has featured keynote speakers such as Thomas Hoaglin, Donna James, and Eric Troy. The event is designed to recognize the contributions of micro entrepreneurs, celebrate their successes, and expose them to new market opportunities. The awards program will be held on Thursday, April 24 at Columbus Christian Center Church, 2300 N Cassady Ave., from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The program will begin with a networking reception at 6:00 pm and conclude with the award ceremony at 7:00 pm. INCREASE Community Development Corp. (INCREASE CDC) is a faith-based community development corporation dedicated to improving the quality of life in Central Ohio through Education, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development. INCREASE CDC has trained hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs on business planning and financial literacy and started or expanded over 80 businesses throughout Central Ohio. INCREASE CDC is funded by the Ohio Department of Development, Ohio CDC association, Franklin County Department of Economic Development, and most Central Ohio banking institutions. |
